Tiivistelmä
This article deals with francophone studies in a European country, where French is not an official language, Finland. Based on a questionnaire which was distributed to all the teaching staff involved in French studies at Finnish universities, official curricula of each department and teaching practices in relation to Francophonie, this study represents a first look at the intégration of f/Francophonie in this context. We also question definitions of the notion of « francophonie », which is polysemic. A double understanding of francophonie is thus proposed to tackle the question: solid (canonical, official and politic francophonie) and liquid (the use of French beyond these boundaries) francophonies. Our results show that the notion is integrated in all the departments of French but that it doesn’t have a central position neither a coherent definition. We end on a proposal which consists in approaching francophonie from a “liquid” point of view, which would allow renewing our understanding of the notion and expand conceptual and methodological ways of dealing with it
