dc.description.abstractThis Festschrift honors professor Valtteri Arstila on his birthday with a collection of philosophical essays from his colleagues. Arstila specializes in the philosophy of mind with an empirically informed approach, and his research has garnered international recognition. In addition, he is highly appreciated as a colleague, teacher, and mentor who fosters collaboration. Arstila's research interests and versatility are also reflected in the topics covered in this Festschrift. The first section, Mind and Action, includes essays on consciousness, agency, and normativity. The second section, Time and Temporal Experience, examines the nature of time, the experience of time, and temporality. The final section, Other Philosophical Reflections, explores topics in philosophy of science, logic, philosophy of language, political philosophy and more besides.
